Abuse can appear in different forms; feeling cheated, not feeling acknowledged, financial abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, being in a very controlling environment where you don’t feel safe to express yourself or be yourself, feeling judged all the time or a combination of these. We may try to blur the details in order to not experience the unpleasant emotions it made us feel; however the trauma subconsciously gets locked in the body anyway.
